Cruising! On this morning, we got up and had a breakfast with the rest of the people that were also on our FREE, yes FREE, cruise! Very nice people...I think we’re the youngest in the group though...no biggie...we’re fitting right in.
This cruise is sponsored by Park West Gallery. Brandi and I have purchased artwork from them the last 2 cruises and I guess that put us on some sort of VIP list. Cool.
I’d love to be showing you pictures, but for some reason, I cannot upload them from the ship. I don’t think the ship bandwidth is fast enough. I keep getting errors. That’s bumming me out. So...you’ll have to wait until the very end of the cruise to see all of the pictures!
We boarded the buses at the hotel which took us to the port. Actually...everything has been quite simple so far. Which is nice. As some as you know...I kinda like to know what’s going on every second of every day and being in group where I don’t have a FULL itinerary, has been difficult for me.
We got on the ship as easy as ever and went for a bite at the Windjammer Cafe while they were getting our room together. Side note: It took them until 6pm to get Brandi’s bag to our room. That was kinda a big bummer because the Tylenol was in there and she had a little of a headache. Actually...my head was hurting too. I bought 2 “Drinks of the Day” and she didn’t like hers so I drank both! Glug...glug...glug...
We entered the Health and Spa raffle and didn’t win anything...sorta. I (Jesse) was loud enough (big surprise here) that I won a free foot and ankle massage. YAY! Brandi purchased a body wrap thingy. We’re both going to do our services at 9:30 tomorrow.
We checked out the FlowRider...very cool. It’s a surfing simulator on the sports deck. I have pictures and movies that I will try to upload as soon as I can.
At 4:15ish, the whole ship parrticipated in the safety drill which was comprised of going to your room, putting on your life vest, and then going to the designated section. As always, it was a piece of cake.
Before dinner we met an artist that will have many of his works for sale at the auction tomorrow. His mame is Itzchak Tarkay. He paints mostly sad women. Search for his stuff online...I’m sure you’ll see. In fact...at dinner, one of the othe Park West guest commented that Brandi could look a model for Tarkay. Not because she’s sad, but because almost all of the women are, how shold we sayd it...not very tan...and have red lipstick. She went and told Tarkay and Tarkay said, “Go tell her!” We think that means that he agreed.
Dinner with the “group.” was fun as well. There is the guy that makes me look like a, as Brandi just put it, a “shrinking violet.” He’s loud and forthright and basically a little kid...oh...and Brandi adds, “He was a little drunk last night.” Something that I don’t think helped the situation. For reals...he kept on propositioning every woman in the group as well as wait staff. Brandi was offered a foot massage...as long as it was going to lead somewhere...naked was the only option. Seriously...Brandi was a good sport and shrugged it off.
After dinner, Brandi and I played some Movie Musical Trivia. I didn’t do too well. I thought I’d do better, but all of the questions were about quasi modern musicals...like the last 20 years. Nothing about South Pacific or Cabaret or West Side Story...We had fun anyway. Oh! I was the only one in the room that got the Anastasia question! YAY!
After trivia, we went and got some cookies and went to play some $5 match play coupons that were in our stateroom. Blackjack was full so we put it on Roullette. Long story short, we left the casino UP $5. All right! Woooo!
Time for a parade now! Olympus Rocks! That was the theme...I think that was best parade we’ve seen. Best theme anyway. Like a said....I’m going to do my best to get the pictures up as soon as possible.
Long day....and now we go to bed to get ready for the next day.
Another note...our Cruise Director is Graham Seymour! He was the Cruise Director when we sailed in 2007 with Shpuck, Aubs, Mort and Ha-P! What luck! He’s still very funny!
