We decided that on this cruise we would try to get room service each morning. It’s easy and FREE! We had eggs and toast and fruit and orange juice. Yum!
At 9:30am, Brandi had some sort of spa treatment that was for detoxing her body and I had a foot massage. My massage lady was Diedre from South Africa. White and British. Cute too! I won the foot massage the day earlier because I was loud at the spa raffle. Cool huh?
At 10am, I played Morning Trivia in the Schooner Bar. 2nd place baby! AND I PLAYED BY MYSELF! Get this...I lost by 1 POINT! The guy who scored my sheet said that I should get a keychain too because I was only 1 person and I lost by only 1 point to 3 PEOPLE! In the spirit of being a total keychain tightwad, he told me I didn’t get anything because I didn’t win. Nice...Thanks, Hector.
In the afternoon, we went to our first auction. It was fun! I won’t tell you guys exactly what happened, but we ARE coming home with 1 more work than we had before the cruise, and this one is pretty darn cool. The auction went until 3:45.
Side note: For those of you who don’t know, the cruise is being paid for by Park West Gallery. We purchased artworks from them before and we got on some list that made us VIPs or something. Everythinkg is being paid by them, even gratuities and ALL drinks at dinner and at the “Cocktail Party” that happens 1 1/2 hours before dinner. INCREDIBLE! They have paid for our tickets to the cruise AS WELL AS our hotel and airfare before and afer the cruise. WOW! Thanks Park West!
At 4pm we went and saw the ice skating show, Freeze Frame! It was great! It was music from the last 5 decades mixed with costume changes and ICE SKATING ON A SHIP AT SEA! Great show!
After that, Brandi and I went to the room, hung out at the pool for a while, then she went to the steam room while I went back to trivia...once again in the Schooner Bar. This time it was “Big Band Trivia.” I got 2nd again, (all by myself still) but this go ‘round, I got a official, one of kind, exciting, PEN! YAY! Note...I lost by 1 point again to a group of 4 older people. I rock!
7pm was our cocktail party for Park West in “The Labyrinth.” It’s called “The Dungeon” on the Navigator and Mariner. It’s decorated sorta Goth-like, so the names fit aptly. More free drinks. “Hello there Mr. Lava Flow, I’ve missed you.”
At 8, I bugged out again to the Schooner Bar to play some more trivia. This time it was progressive trivia. No awards tonight, just a big reward at the end of the cruise. I didn’t do too well in this one. It was billed as “general trivia,” but the questions were really friggin’ hard. I only got 10 right. I think the winner, once again a group of people, got 15.
From 8:30 to 9:45 we ate. Yum! Tonight I had chicken. The steak from the previous night was nothing impressive to say the least. Free Sprite. :)
After dinner, we all (Park West Party People) went up to the “Olive or Twist” Jazz Club and danced and stuff. I really disliked the drummer a) beacuse he sucked and b) the way he tuned his drums. Frustrating to listen to. But then...SALVATION! It seems that our host plays drums and he got up and played Proud Mary while his daughter, Amanda sang. then Jason, our auctioneed played Mustang Sally while Morry sang! Brandi said that I should go tell them that I play and I just shrugged that off and hung bac and listened. I played it real cool boy....real cool...
We caught the “invitation to Dance” production show at 11pm. GREAT! FANTASTIC! ENTERTAINING! Seriously, there was some very impressive talent on the stage that night for both singing AND dancing.
We hit the sack at around 12:15. Belize was tomorrow and we had to set the alarm for 6am. UGH! I thought we were on vacation!
Tonight’s Towel Animal: Mr. Elephant.
